It feels like years since I last blogged. I almost forgot that I had a blog. Things are so much different these days. Being married, moving to a completely different country - is a whole new experience. So yes, this is my new life - I'm officially someone's wife. We live in a 5 acres ranch with 2 horses and a cat.. Life is completely different. We're not rich but life is comfortable.
So, I've been cooking a lot - malaysian, american and italian dishes. I guess my aunt is right, once you're married.. you'll learn to cook almost automatically and being thousand miles away from home, one thing that brings me closer to home is through cooking. So, for raya I made soto ayam, nasi impit, kuah kacang, rendang ayam & pulut kuning. I'm so lucky that my husband loves malaysian food and he has always been my 'assistant' around the hse including the kitchen :) If I cook, he'll help to load the dishes to the dish washer. Come to think of it, I am lucky. He's a wonderful person and I never thought I'd fall in love again.
So maybe one of these days, if I'm free, I'll talk more about my cooking. My husband said, I'm just like that 'Julie and Julia' movie. I've been trying a lot of recipes and so far, they turned out good :) Married life keeps me occupied but as much as I can, I still do things on my own for my happiness - such as finding a hobby or doing something I love, which for me, going for swimming lesson and joining voluntary program at the local elementary school. I always believe that we are responsible for our own happiness and not to blame other person for that.
I went for ballroom dancing lesson last summer too, before the wedding. It's so easy. You just have to follow your partner's lead (which my husband is good at). I still remember our first dance at the patio. I was nervous but it was a beautiful experience. I guess I have to be thankful for having to experience all that in my life.
Oh well.. May we all have a blessed married life.
